It seems like Gil, The Jenius, wants to do me one better by posting his own list of freeware. Freeware is not open source, mind you, nor is it free software. I know the Jenius knows that. I also know, The Jenius won't mind if I do him one better, so I will give you a link where you can download, or order, a CD-rom shock-full of open source software for Windows.

It's called The OpenCD.org. Here's a brief description:

TheOpenCD is a collection of high quality Free and Open Source Software. The programs run in Windows and cover the most common tasks such as word processing, presentations, e-mail, web browsing, web design, and image manipulation. We include only the highest quality programs, which have been carefully tested for stability and which we consider appropriate for a wide audience.
